Like a rookie, I forgot to take Emory's 4 month old picture before her shots...she's wasn't a happy camper last night when I took this one.
Eating: Well...you were eating 6 oz every 4 hours but then you came down with a cold a couple weeks ago and since then it's been about 3 oz every 3 hours with the occasional 6 oz bottle. You just haven't been interested in eating and when you do you usually end up spitting/vomiting some of it up due to the mucous build up in your throat.
Size: At your 4 month old check up today, you were 11lbs, 15oz. This puts you around the 15th percentile in weight. You are 22" long; you still didn't make it on the charts yet for length but you grew 2.5" over the last two months. Your head is the only thing that is almost average (40th percentile).
Eyes: No one knows. However, some days your right eye is bluer than the left one. The left one rarely looks blue, but the right one has it moments. I'm going to venture a guess that you'll have hazel eyes.
Sleep: You are doing great in this department, even for being sick the last two weeks. We have had a few nights where you have slept through the night but most of the time you wake once between 2 and 4.
You are no longer swaddled at all. You're still in the rock and play sleeper about 75% of the time. We were regularly putting you down to sleep in your crib until you got sick. The RNP sleeper keeps you upright which has been a god send since you have been so congested. I always put you back down in the RNP after your middle of the night feeding. I'm too chicken to put you back in your crib for fear you will really wake yourself up.
Naps...you're funny. You're predictable with your naps and when I cradle you, you always try to fight me. But after about 30-60 seconds of fussing you succumb to sleep. I love watching those little eyes roll back in your head as you try to stay awake.
You also like to grab a fist full of my hair as you're falling asleep.
Paci: You will take a paci for about 3-5 minutes as you are falling asleep but you'll push it out before you fall into a deep sleep. Other than this, you don't really use the paci all that much.
Likes: When I say "Heeeeeeeyyyyyyy...". Bouncing up and down.My hair in your face. You've become a big fan of Savannah this month. You love your play mat these days as well. You love to be talked to. Bath time always gets the biggest smile from you. You love being outside and talking walks. You went for your first run with me in the jogging stroller the other day and other than poor planning on my part (it was feeding time), you were very content. You still love your little soft animals/dolls. Your face lights up when you see them.
Dislikes: Being changed in the middle of the night. Being boogie sucked. Being bored. Being hot. You hate to be hot.
Milestones:
You are moving those legs. You can scoot yourself off your play mat in a heart beat. At the doctor's office you managed to rotate yourself 180 degrees by wiggling those legs.
You are grasping things with your hands more and more.
You've found your voice. Sometimes I think you coo just to hear yourself.
Your eyes/eyebrows continue to be very expressive. You can tell stories with your eyebrows.
Giggling. Oh my it's the sweetest sound.
You aren't far from sitting on your own. The Pediatrician said you had great trunk control and couldn't believe how strong you are. You've managed to 'balance' sitting up for a few seconds at a time.
You rolled over, belly to back, yesterday for the Pediatrician as well. It was the first time you had done that. Then again, we don't put you on your belly that often because of the tantrum that ensues...and the fact you are the 3rd child...I rarely even think about tummy time. You are getting very close to rolling over, back to belly.
Month three was a big month for you. You had your first stomach virus, cold and ear infection. Oy! Needless to say, there was a lot of Emory snuggles to be had this month.
You took your first trip to our Alma Mater.
You celebrated your first Easter.
You were baptized.
