A Life cut short by a Congential Heart Defect
November 15, 2005 - October 31, 2008

A Congential Heart Defect (CHD) affects one in 125 babies born in the United States; that is approximately 35,000 babies per year. Heart defects are among the most common birth defects and are the leading cause of birth defect-related deaths. A congenital heart defect is an abnormality in any part of the heart that is present at birth. Heart defects originate in the early weeks of pregnancy when the heart is forming. Today, most heart defects can be corrected or helped with surgery, medicine, or devices, such as artificial valves and pacemakers.....but not all.

Jack was a courageous, little fighter who lost his battle to CHD on October 31, 2008. He was the oldest son of Brad and Amy and big brother to Noah. He loved the color red, was fascinated with Firetrucks/Firemen, and loved being barefoot.

He touched many lives in his short time here. Jack was loved by many and will not be forgotten.

Donations can be made to: The University of Michigan Mott Children’s Hospital
